Kolebira (ST), a reserved constituency, voted on December 7, during the second phase of Jharkhand Assembly elections 2019.
In the 2014 elections, Anosh Ekka of the Jharkhand Party (JKP) defeated Manoj Nagesiya of the BJP. Mr Ekka was polled 48,978 votes while his nearest opponent secured 31,835 votes.
Congress candidate Naman Bixal Kongari defeated the BJP candidate by over 9,000 votes in the Kolebira assembly by-election in Jharkhand held in 2018. Mr Kongari got 40,343 votes while the BJP candidate Basant Soreng managed to get 30,685 votes. The sitting legislator Enos Ekka's wife Menon Ekka managed to get only 16,445 votes. The polling took place on December 20, 2018.
For the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections in Kolebira, candidates in the fray include Anil Kandulna (Rashtriya Sangail Party), Ireen Ekka (JKP), Naman Bixal Kongari (Congress), Deepak Kerketta (Jharkhand Vikas Morcha - Prajatantrik), Sujan Jojo (BJP) and Surendra Singh (Bahujan Samaj Party).
Kolebira Assembly constituency is part of the Khunti Lok Sabha segment which is currently represented by Arjun Munda of the BJP.
Result for the Kolebira Assembly election will be announced on December 23.
In 2009 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Anosh Ekka of JKP defeated Mahendra Bhagat of BJP in Kolebira Assembly constituency.
