Jamshedpur East voted on December 7, during the second phase of Jharkhand Assembly elections 2019.
In the 2014 elections, Raghubar Das of the Bharatiya Janata Party or BJP defeated Anand Bihari Dubey of the Congress. Mr Das, the current Chief Minister, got 1,03,427 votes while his nearest opponent secured 33,270 votes.
For the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections in this constituency, candidates contesting include Raghubar Das (BSP), Gourav Vallabh (Congress), Surjeet Singh (AIMIM), Indra Hembram (Rashtriya Deshaj Party), Anand Kumar Patralekh (Yuva Krantikari Party), Abhay Singh (Jharkhand Vikas Morcha - Prajatantrik), Shankar Pratap Vishwakarma (Bahujan Samaj Party), Indrajit Kumar Chandel (Right to Recall Party), Dharmendra Kumar Sharma (Rashtriya Jansambhavna Party) and Tarkeshwar Tiwary (Shiv Sena).
Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency is part of the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha segment which is currently represented by Bidyut Baran Mahato of the BJP.
Results for the Jamshedpur East Assembly elections will be announced on December 23 along with 80 other constituencies of the Jharkhand Assembly.
In 2009 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Raghubar Das of the BJP defeated Abhay Singh of JVM in Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency.
