Jharkhand's Kodarma Assembly constituency went to polls on December 12, during the third phase of the Jharkhand Assembly elections 2019.
In the 2014 election, Neera Yadav of the BJP defeated Annapurna Devi of the RJD. Ms Yadav had got 84,874 votes while her nearest opponent secured 71,349 votes.
For the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly election, candidates contesting include Ramesh Harshdhar (Jharkhand Vikas Morcha - Prajatantrik), Neera Yadav (BJP), Santosh Kumar Singh (Aam Aadmi Party), Mahendra Prasad (Moolniwasi Samaj Party) and Prakash Ambedkar (Bahujan Samaj Party or BSP).
Kodarma Assembly constituency is part of the Kodarma Lok Sabha segment which is currently represented by Annapurna Devi Yadav of the BJP.
Results for the Kodarma Assembly elections will be announced on December 23.
In 2009 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Annapurna Devi of RJD defeated Ramesh Singh of JVM in Kodarma Assembly constituency.
In the 2005 Jharkhand Assembly elections, which was the first state elections held after the formation of the state, Annapurna Devi won from the Kodarma Assembly constituency as an RJD candidate against Sajid Hussain who contested as an independent.
