Hatia assembly seat is a part of the central region of Jharkhand.
24 per cent population in Hatia is rural and 76 per cent population is urban.
In this assembly seat, 4.01 per cent population belong to scheduled castes (SC), and 28.07 per cent population belong to scheduled tribes (ST).
The assembly election for Hatia seat was held in the third phase, on December 12, 2019.
The counting of votes will be held on December 23, 2019.
In the 2014 Assembly elections, Navin Jaiswal from JVM was elected. He received 88,228 votes. His closest opponent was Seema Sharma, who fought the election on a ticket from BJP and received 80,210 votes.
In 2009 Jharkhand Assembly Elections, Gopal S.N. Shahdeo was elected from Hatia seat on a ticket from INC. He received 39,921 votes. His closest opponent was Ram Ji Lal Sharda who had fought on a ticket from BJP and received 39,896 votes.
For the 2019 Assembly Elections in Jharkhand, BJP has fielded the sitting MLA Navin Jaiswal, Congress has fielded Ajay Nath Shahdeo, and AJSUP has fielded Bharat Kanshi.
