Chandra Prakash Choudhary was elected to the legislative assembly on a ticket from AJSUP. He received 98,987 votes. His closest opponent was Shahzada Anwar, who fought the election on a ticket from the Congress and received 45,169 votes.
In 2009 Jharkhand Assembly Elections, Chandra Prakash Choudhary was elected from Ramgarh on a ticket from AJSUP. He received 61,947 votes. His closest opponent was Shahzada Anwar who had fought on a ticket from the Congress and received 36,472 votes.
For the 2019 Assembly Elections in Jharkhand, CPI has fielded Khurshid Ahmad Quraishi, BJP has fielded Rananjay Kumar, and BSP has fielded Md. Moinuddin Ahmad.
Congress has fielded Mamata Devi, and AJSUP has fielded Sunita Choudhary. Sunita Choudhary is Chandra Prakash Choudhary's wife.
