Jamua (SC), a reserved constituency, voted on December 16, during the fourth phase of Jharkhand Assembly elections 2019.
In the 2014 elections, Kedar Hazra of the BJP defeated Satya Narayan Das of the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha - Prajatantrik. Kedar Hazra had got 56,027 votes while his nearest opponent secured 32,927 votes.
For the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections in Jamua, candidates in the fray include Manju Kumari (Congress), Shyamdeo Hazra (Loktantrik Janshakti Party), Rajendar Hazra (Janata Party), Kedar Hazra (BSP), Nandlal Ravidas (Aam Aadmi Party), Satyanarayan Das (AJSU Party), Ramchandra Hazra (Bahujan Samaj Party), Chandrika Mahtha (Jharkhand Vikas Morcha - Prajatantrik), Mahendra Rajak (Bahujan Mukti Party), Ashok Paswan (Communist Party of India - Marxist-Leninist - Liberation) and Jagdish Baitha (Rashtriya Lok Samta Party).
Jamua Assembly constituency is part of the Kodarma Lok Sabha segment which is currently represented by Annapurna Devi Yadav of BJP.
Results for the Jamua Assembly elections will be announced on December 23.
In 2009 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Chandrika Mahtha of JVM defeated Satya Narayan Das of CPI (ML-L) in Jamua Assembly constituency.
