About Tikamgarh

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Virendra Kumar was elected from Tikamgarh in Madhya Pradesh on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. He received 4,22,979 votes. His closest opponent was Ahirwal Dr. Kamlesh Verma from the Congress who received 2,14,247 votes. Virendra Kumar won the constituency by a margin of 2,08,731 votes.

In the 2009 general elections, the Tikamgarh seat was won by Virendra Kumar of the BJP. The Tikamgarh constituency came into existence in 2008 as a part of the implementation of the delimitation of parliamentary constituencies.

The Tikamgarh parliamentary constituency consists of eight Vidhan Sabha seats: Tikamgarh, Jatara, Prithvipur, Niwari, Khargapur, Maharajpur, Chhatarpur and Bijawar.

Voting for the Tikamgarh seat was concluded in the fifth phase of elections on May 6.

In the 2019 general elections, the BJP fielded Virendra Kumar and the Congress party's candidate is Ahirwar Kiran.
