About Indore

In the Indore constituency, there are total twenty candidates which includes twelve independent candidate. The key contestants are Pankaj Singhvi from Indian National Congress, Er Deepchand Ahirwal from BSP and Shankar Lalwani from BJP.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Sumitra Mahajan (Tai) was elected from Indore in Madhya Pradesh on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. He won the Indore seat with 8,54,972 votes by a margin of 3,88,071 votes defeating Satyanaryan Patel of the Indian National Congress, who received 3,88,071votes.

In 2009, BJP candidate Sumitra Mahajan (Tai) won the elections with 3,88,662 votes defeating INCs candidate Satyanarayan Patel who received 3,77,182 votes. The overall margin between the two candidates was 11, 480 votes.

There are eight assembly seats under the Indore constituency which includes Depalpur, Indore- 1, Indore- 2, Indore- 3, Indore- 4, Indore- 5 and Rau. While this Lok Sabha seat is reserved for scheduled caste category includes Sanwer assembly is reserved for candidates belonging to scheduled caste category.
