About Ujjain

There are six candidates in the Ujjain constituency out of which two are independent. Anil Firojiya from BJP, Babulal Malviya from INC and Satish Parmar from BSP are the key contesting candidates.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Prof Chintamani Malviya was elected from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. He won the Ujjain seat with 6,41,101 votes by a margin of 3,09,663 votes defeating Premchand Guddu of the Indian National Congress, who received 3,31,438 votes.

In 2009, INC candidate Guddu Premchand won the elections with 3,26,905 votes defeating BJP's candidate Dr Satynarayan Jatiya who received 3,11,064 votes. The overall margin between the two candidates was 15, 841 votes.

There are eight assembly seats under the Ujjain constituency which includes Nagada- Khachrod, Mahidpur, Ujjain Uttar, Ujjain Dakshin and Badnagar. While this Lok Sabha seat is reserved for scheduled caste category includes Tarana, Ghatiya and Alot assembly is reserved for candidates belonging to scheduled caste category.
