Live : Bhind Assembly Election 2023

The Bhind Lok Sabha constituency, which lies in two districts -- Datia and Bhind -- of Madhya Pradesh state, consists of Ater, Bhind, Lahar, Mehgaon, Gohad, Sewda, Bhander and Datia assembly segments. Under this constituency the Gohad and Bhander assembly seat falls under the scheduled caste category. 

The constituency went to polls on May 12 in the sixth phase of 2019 general elections. The poll results will be released on May 23.

BJP's Dr Bhagirath Prasad is the sitting MP from this constituency. In 2014 he defeated Imarti Devi, the Congress nominated candidate in this seat by a margin of 159961. He is a member of the Standing Committee on Human Resource Development, Consultative Committee, and Ministry of Home Affairs. He was also a member of the Committee on Violation of Protocol Norms and Contemptuous Behaviour of Government Officers with Members of Lok Sabha, Parliament Library Committee, Committee on Estimates and Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

This time the lok sabha elections will have Babu Ram Jamor, who was the BSP nominated candidate from this constituency, BJP's Sandhya Ray and Devashish backed by the Congress. They are among the 18 candidates who are in fray for the seat, of which are eight independent candidates.

The General Elections of 2014 saw a total voter turnout of 1,598,169.
