The Betul Lok Sabha constituency consists of assembly segments in Multai, Betul and Harda. While this Lok Sabha seat is reserved for candidates belonging to scheduled caste category, Amla is the only one. In the ST category, Ghoradongri,Bhainsdehi, Timarni and Harsud are the ones which are reserved.

The Betul constituency is one of the 29 Lok Sabha constituencies in Madhya Pradesh.

Betul Lok Sabha constituency went to polls on May 6 in the fifth phase of 2019 General Election. The poll results will be released on May 23.

A total of 11, 31,621 electorates have been registered in this constituency this time among which are 5, 80,965 male voters, 5, 50,633 female voters and 23 third gender voters.

Two-time MP and the incumbent parliamentarian from the Betul seat, Jyoti Dhurve was the winner in 2014 elections. Jyoti Dhurve has represented the constituency twice as a BJP candidate. In 2014 he had defeated INC fielded by Ajay Shah with a margin of 3, 28,614 votes.

In 2014, the total number of electors were 16, 07,822.

BJP's Jyoti Dhurve received 6, 43,651votes and the INC candidate Ajay Shah received 3,15,037 votes. There was a huge margin of votes between the two candidates from the constituency of Betul. The BJP MP is the member, committee on empowerment of woman. She is also the member of the standing committee in the ministry of coal and steel. She is also the consultative committee member in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

From 1996 to 2004, BJP candidate Vijay Kumar K won the elections consecutively for five terms.

A total of nine candidates are in fray for the Betul seat this time, among which are three independent candidates.

Among key contestants are Ashok Bhalavi from BSP, Durga Das (D.D.) Uikey from BJP and Ramu Tekam from INC.
