About Khargone

In Khargone constituency there are seven candidates out of which three are independent. Amit Kumar Balke from BSP, Gajendra Umrao from BJP and Dr Govind Subhan Mahajan from INC are the key contestants for the Lok Sabha 2019 election. 

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Subhash Patel was elected from Khargone in Madhya Pradesh on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. He won Khargone seat with 6,49,354 votes by a margin of 2,57,879 votes defeating Ramesh Patel of the Indian National Congress, who received 3,91,475 votes.

In 2009, BJP candidate Makhan Singh Solanki won the elections with 3,51,296 votes defeating BJP's candidate Balaram Bachchan who received 3,17,121 votes. The overall margin between the two candidates was 34,175 votes.

There are eight assembly seats under the Khargone constituency which includes Kasrawad, and Khargone. While this Lok Sabha seat is reserved for scheduled caste and scheduled tribe category includes Maheshwar assembly is reserved for candidates belonging to scheduled caste category and Bhagwanpura, Sendhawa, Rajpur, Pansemal and Badwani assembly is reserved for scheduled tribe category.
