About Gwalior

The Gwalior Lok Sabha constituency consists of Gwalior Rural, Gwalior, Gwalior East, Gwalior South, Bhitarwar, Dabra, Karera and Pohari assembly segments. Under this constituency the Dabra and Karera assembly seat falls under the scheduled caste category. 

The constituency went to polls on May 12 in the sixth phase of 2019 general elections. The poll results will be released on May 23.

BJP's Narendra Singh Tomar is the sitting MP from this constituency. In 2014 he defeated the Congress nominated candidate, Ashok Singh, in this seat by a margin of 29699. He is a two-time Member of parliament and a Union Cabinet Minister of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Mines. He was also the Union Cabinet Minister of Mines, Steel, and Labour and Employment, as well as the Union Cabinet Minister of Drinking Water, Sanitation, and Housing and Urban Affairs.  
This time the lok sabha elections will have Narendra Singh Tomar, who was the BJP nominated candidate from this constituency along with Ashok Singh, fielded by the Congress and BSP's Mamta Balveer Singh Kushwah. They are among the 18 candidates who are in fray for the seat, of which are 5 independent candidates.

The General Elections of 2014 saw a total voter turnout of 1,877,003.
