About Guna

The Guna Lok Sabha constituency consists of  Shivpuri, Pichhore, Kolaras, Bamori, Guna,Ashok Nagar, Chanderi and Mungaoli assembly segments. Under this constituency the Guna and Ashok Nagar assembly seat falls under the scheduled caste category. 

The constituency went to polls on May 12 in the sixth phase of 2019 general elections. The poll results will be released on May 23.

INC's Jyotiraditya M Scindia is the sitting MP from this constituency. In 2014 he defeated Jaibhansingh Pawaiya, the BJP nominated candidate in this seat by a margin of 120792. He is a four-time Member of parliament, and is a member of the Committee on Privileges, the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Standing Committee on Finance. He was also a Union Minister of State, Commerce and Industry, and Union Minister of Sate (Independent Charge), Power.  

This time the lok sabha elections will have Krishna Pal Singh or Dr KP Yadav, who was the BJP nominated candidate from this constituency along with INC's Jyotiraditya M Scindia and BSP's Dhakad Lokendra Singh Rajpoot. They are among the 13 candidates who are in fray for the seat, of which six are independent candidates.

The General Elections of 2014 saw a total voter turnout of 1,605,619
