About Morena

The Morena Lok Sabha constituency consists of Sabalagadh, Jaura, Sumaoli, Dimani, Ambah and Morena assembly segments. Under this constituency the Ambah assembly seat falls under the scheduled caste category. 

The Morena constituency went to polls on May 12 in the sixth phase of 2019 general elections. The poll results will be released on May 23.

BJP's Anoop Mishra is the sitting MP from this constituency. In 2014 he defeated the Brindawan Singh Sikarwar, the BSP nominated candidate in this seat by a margin of 132981. He was a former cabinet member of the government of Madhya Pradesh and a member of the standing committee on Personal, Public Grievances and Law and Justice. He was also a member of the committee on Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS), and a member of the Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare.    
This time the lok sabha elections will have Narendra Singh Tomar, who was the BJP nominated candidate from this constituency along with BSP's Kartar Singh Bhadana and Congress's Ramniwas Rawat. They are among the 25 candidates who are in fray for the Morena seat, of which are 11 independent candidates.

The General Elections of 2014 saw a total voter turnout of 8,54,279.
