About Jabalpur

In the 2014 general elections, Rakesh Singh from Bharatiya Janata Party or BJP had won the Jabalpur Lok Sabha constituency in Madhya Pradesh. He received 5,64,609 votes. His closest opponent was Vivek Krishna Tankha from Indian National Congress or INC. He received 3,55,970 votes. 

In 2009 general elections, Rakesh Singh from BJP had won the seat. He received 3,43,922 votes. His opponent was Rameeshwar Neekhra from INC. He received 2,37,919 votes. 

In 1971 and 1974 general elections, Seth Govind Das from INC had won the Jabalpur Lok Sabha constituency. In 1977 general elections, Sharad Yadav from Bharatiya Lok Dal had won from the Jabalpur constituency. 

In 1980 general elections, Munder Sharma from INC (I) had won the seat. After 1982 By-poll elections, B.Paranjpe from BJP had won the Jabalpur constituency. 

In 1984 general elections, Ajay Narayan Mushran from INC had won the seat. In 1989 general elections, Baburao Pranjpe from BJP was elected from the Jabalpur constituency. 

In 1991 general elections, Shrawan Kumar Patel from INC had won the Jabalpur seat. In 1996 and 1998 general elections, Dada Baburao Paranjape from BJP had won the seat. In 1999, Jaishree Banerjee from BJP was elected from the Jabalpur Lok Sabha constituency. In 2004 general elections, Rakesh Singh from BJP had won the Jabalpur Lok Sabha constituency. 

In 2019 general elections, there are 22 candidates contesting the elections. They are Rakesh Singh from Bharatiya Janata Party, Ad. Ramraj Ram from Bahujan Samaj Party, Pt. Vivek Krishna Tankha from Indian National Congress, Kuldeep Ahirwar from Republican Party of India, Chandra Prakash Bhatnagar from Araksham Virodhi Party, Devendra Kumar Yadav from Pragatishil Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Prasad Shukla Bharatiya Shakti Chetna Party, Mahu Singh Paraste from Gondvana Gantantra Party, Shahnaj Bee Ansari from Smart Indians Party, Sukhdev Dahiya from Bharatiya Jan Sampark Party. 

There are 12 independent candidates Amjad Khan, Ashok Singh Lodhi, Gulab Singh (Vivek), Dr. Dhai Akshar, Dhanuk, Rakesh Singh S/O Nathuram, Rakesh Singh S/O Baljor Singh, Ram Dayal Prajapat, Engr. Rupram Singh, Laxminarayan Jagannath Singh Lodhi, Vinay Kumar Jain and Shri Lal Markam. 

There are 8 Lok Sabha constituencies in the Jabalpur Lok Sabha constituency. These include Patan, Bargi, Jabalpur East, Jabalpur North, Jabalpur Cantt., Jabalpur West, Panagar and Sihora.
