Iran-Israel US War: Iran's Army chief has issued a stern warning that the deaths of crew members from the IRIS Dena warship in the Indian Ocean "will not go unanswered", as reported by Al Jazeera, citing Iran's state news agency IRNA. Major General Amir Hatami, commander-in-chief of the Iranian army, condemned the attack on the vessel, one of the country's newest warships, which occurred while it was returning from a military exercise.

The US-Israel-Iran war entered its 15th day with the US bombing Iran's "crown jewel", Kharg Island. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said military targets on Kharg Island, which handles almost all of Iran's crude exports, had been "totally obliterated" in "one of the most powerful bombing raids in the History of the Middle East." He said he had chosen not to target oil infrastructure on the island for now.

2 Weeks On And With "No Easy" Exit, A Look At Trump's Options In Iran War

US-Israeli strikes killed Iran's leader but have not toppled the government, which now, from its perch on the Strait of Hormuz, has put the entire world economy on the war's frontlines.

The initial US victory in killing supreme leader Ali Khamenei has given way to a conflict that Washington cannot completely control, sharply limiting President Donald Trump's options.

Two weeks into a bloody air war, Iran holds many cards as it chokes the world's oil supply and strikes US allies in the Middle East, including Gulf states who had for years staked their reputations on political and economic stability.

US-Israel-Iran War LIVE: 2 Indian Ships Carrying LPG Tankers Cross The Strait Of Hormuz

Summer Flights Likely To Get Expensive As Jet Fuel Prices Rise Amid Iran War

Experts say it's not a question of if airfares will go up, but when, for how long and by how much. The impact may be felt most on long-haul international routes, which burn significantly more fuel than shorter flights.

Some airlines outside of the US have announced fare increases or fuel surcharges in an effort to offset the growing expense. In the U.S., United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby recently warned that airfare increases will "probably start quick" as increasing fuel costs work their way through the industry.

The war is constraining oil exports and prompting major producers like Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Iraq to scale back output as shipments face growing obstacles.

No Oil Infrastructure Damaged In US Strikes On Kharg Island: Report

No oil infrastructure was damaged in US strikes on Kharg Island, Iranian media reported on Saturday.

Israel Iran War LIVE: Hamas Urges Iran To "Avoid Targeting Neighbouring Countries"

Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas on Saturday called on Iran to refrain from targeting neighbouring countries, while affirming Tehran's right to defend itself against Israel and the United States.

"While affirming the right of the Islamic Republic of Iran to respond to this aggression by all available means in accordance with international norms and laws, the movement calls on the brothers in Iran to avoid targeting neighbouring countries," Hamas said in a statement.

Explained: Why Was Kharg Island Hit

US President Donald Trump said the US military had heavily bombed targets on the island, also threatening to hit the island's oil infrastructure. Stating that every military target was obliterated, Trump wrote on social media, "I have chosen NOT to wipe out the Oil Infrastructure on the Island. However, should Iran, or anyone else, do anything to interfere with the Free and Safe Passage of Ships through the Strait of Hormuz, I will immediately reconsider."

Trump and several US leaders have delivered strong statements as Iran continues to all but halt operations in the critical Strait of Hormuz, which sees the passage of 20 per cent of all of the world's oil. This has hit the world economy, sending oil prices skyrocketing to $100 a barrel. Iran -- the fourth-biggest crude producer within the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) -- vowed not one litre of oil would be exported from the Gulf while the war continues.

The strike though is unlikely to evoke no response from Iran, with a bulk of Tehran's crude exports facing an immediate halt. It is likely to trigger "severe retaliation in the Strait of Hormuz or against regional energy infrastructure", JP Morgan warned.

Iran's parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf had earlier said Iran "will abandon all restraint" if the islands come under attack and said Trump will be responsible for "the blood of American soldiers."

Israel Iran War LIVE: Residents In Parts Of Iran's Tabriz Asked To Leave

Internet shutdowns in Iran since US-Israeli strikes late last month triggered a war in the Middle East meant that residents were unlikely to be able to access online evacuation warnings.

US Assures "Reliable, Affordable, Secure" Energy Supply To Asia-Pacific

The United States can provide "reliable" energy supplies to Asia-Pacific, US Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said Saturday, as the Middle East war cripples the region's oil and gas flow.

Oil and gas prices have surged since US-Israeli strikes on Iran killed its supreme leader and plunged the Middle East into war.

The conflict has virtually halted traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, a key transit point for oil and gas -- the vast majority of which is destined for Asia.

US President Donald Trump's "energy dominance" policy aims to ensure that "we have energy to allow for prosperity at home, and we have the ability to sell energy to our friends and allies," Burgum told an event in Tokyo bringing together 17 countries from the region.

That ensures the region has a "reliable, affordable and secure" energy supply that "can't be interrupted by a terrorist regime," he said.

Why Kharg Island, Iran's "Crown Jewel", Is Key In Middle East War

Spread over a meagre 20 square kilometres, Iran's Kharg island processes 90 per cent of the country's total oil exports, driving the region to the edge as the US attacked it on Friday, 15 days into the Middle East conflict.

The island's facilities, including storage tanks, loading terminals and pipelines, act as the vital nerve centre for the sector. The terminal receives crude from three major offshore fields - Aboozar, Forouzan, and Dorood - which is then transported via a complex network of subsea pipelines to onshore processing facilities before being stored or shipped to global markets.

Pipelines from Iran's largest oil fields including Ahvaz, Marun and Gachsaran feed directly into Kharg's storage tanks. The facilities handle around 95 crore barrels of crude oil every year. Petras Katinas, an energy researcher at the Royal United Services Institute, said Kharg Island was critical to funding Iran's government and military. If Iran were to lose control of Kharg, it would be difficult for the country to function, he told The Associated Press.

"Watch What Happens": Trump's New Threat To Iran's "Deranged Scumbags"

Donald Trump has threatened the Iranian leaders - whom he called "deranged scumbags" - with "watch what happens", as the US heavily bombed military targets on Tehran's oil hub, Kharg Island.

Trump, in a post on Truth Social, said the US is "destroying" the Iranian regime, both "militarily and economically". He asserted that it is an "honour" for him to kill the Iranian leaders.

"Iran's Navy is gone, their Air Force is no longer, missiles, drones, and everything else are being decimated, and their leaders have been wiped from the face of the earth. We have unparalleled firepower, unlimited ammunition, and plenty of time - Watch what happens to these deranged scumbags today. They've been killing innocent people all over the world for 47 years, and now I, as the 47th President of the United States of America, am killing them. What a great honor it is to do so!" he wrote.

Iranian Leaders Trying To Prove Power Of Khamenei's Clerical-Based System

Iran's leaders are seeking to show the staying power of their near half-century old clerical-based system and prove that it can withstand the killing of its longtime ruler and war with the United States and Israel, analysts said.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, supreme leader since the death of revolutionary founder Ruhollah Khomeini in 1989, was killed along with several family members and top security figures in air strikes at the start of the US-Israeli attacks late last month.

But analysts said the system he led, based on Shia Islam and hostility to the West, remained firmly in place, even if it was likely to be adapted by his son and successor Mojtaba Khamenei.

Nor should the war drag on, he said, "lurching from goal to goal and from strategy to strategy" given the US government's aims in attacking Iran have been "absolutely unclear."

"There is a logic to war that presses onward, escalating in its dimensions and timeline. Our country has fallen victim to this logic of war in the recent past, especially in the Middle East," he said, warning of an "ongoing morass in Iran".

"It gains new resources to finance its war against Ukraine as energy prices rise. It profits from the diversion of military capabilities that could otherwise have been sent to support Ukraine. And it benefits from reduced attention to the Ukrainian front as the conflict in the Middle East takes centre stage."

Costa stressed the need for the EU to protect the international rules-based order, which he said was now being challenged by the United States, and for all parties in the Middle East to return to the negotiating table.

"Freedom and human rights cannot be achieved through bombs. Only international law upholds them," he said.

"We must avoid further escalation. Such a path threatens the Middle East, Europe, and beyond."

"It appears that there is controversy recently over US Forces in Korea shipping some weapons, such as artillery batteries and air-defence weapons, out of the country," Lee said in a cabinet meeting, noting that while Seoul had expressed opposition, it was not in a position to make demands.

Lee insisted the removal of some US weapons from the country "does not hinder deterrence strategy towards North Korea," noting South Korea's defence spending and conventional capabilities far exceeded those of North Korea.

Iran-Israel War LIVE Updates: Dollar Eases With Oil On Hopes Of Swift End To Iran War

The dollar lost some of its safe-haven appeal on speculation that the war in the Middle East could prove limited on Tuesday, pulling down skyrocketing oil prices and boosting risk assets.

The comments were quickly rejected as "nonsense" by Iran's Revolutionary Guards, but they seemed to hold traders back from deepening worries about an oil shock and put them in a wait-and-watch stance.

Brent crude futures traded at $92.46 a barrel in the Asia morning, down from highs near $120 on Monday.

The competing signals whipsawed global markets on Monday: oil prices initially spiked and stocks on Wall Street tumbled before rebounding sharply after Trump's comments and fresh reports suggesting Washington may soften sanctions on Russian energy.
