Thirteen-year-old Atiq Ahmad was reunited with his family on Friday after he was deported back to Pakistan through Wagah Border, within hours of his release from Hosriapur.

Atiq Ahmad had run away from home after his father reprimanded him for flying kites and had boarded the Samjhauta Express and landed in India.

His parents approached human rights activists in Pakistan who, helped by few Amritsar-based lawyers, sought the release of Atiq from jail.
