About Udaipur

The Udaipur Lok Sabha constituency consists of Gogunda, Jhadol, Kherwara, Udaipur Rural, Udaipur, Salumber, Dhariawad and Aspur Vidhan Sabha seats. Except the Udaipur Vidhan Sabha seat rest are reserved for candidates belonging to scheduled tribe category. The Udaipur constituency will go to polls on April 29. In the fourth phase of general election 2019, Udaipur is among 13 other constituencies in the State to witness voting. Rest of the constituencies in Rajasthan will vote on May 6 in the fifth phase.

2050421 voters have been registered in this constituency this time. The voting will be done at 2275 polling stations across the Udaipur constituency.

Once a Congress bastion, Udaipur has been witnessing BJP's victory in every successive term since 1998. Currently BJP is the ruling party in the constituency and Arjunlal Meena is representing the constituency in the parliament. He has succeeded Congress' Raghuveer Meena.

Arjunlal Meena is contesting this time as well. In 2014 election he had won the seat by a margin of 236762 votes.

Congress is fielding the former MP Raghuvir Singh Meena. He had contested for the seat in 2014 as well and received 423611 votes.

Among the total nine contenders also are Ghanshyam Singh Tawar (CPI), Kika Mina (CPI Marxist-Leninist Red Star), Parbhulal Meena (Bahujan Mukti Party), Birdhi Lal Chhanwal (Bhartiya Tribal Party), Shankerlal (Satya Bahumat Party) and Harji Lal Meena (Ambedkarite Party of India).
