About Bikaner

The Bikaner Lok Sabha constituency consists of eight assembly segments. These are Khajuwala, Bikaner West, Bikaner East, Kolayat, Lunkaransar, Dungargarh, Nokha and Anupgarh.

The Bikaner constituency is one of the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in Rajasthan.

Bikaner Lok Sabha constituency went to polls on May 06 in the fifth phase of 2019 general election. The poll results will be released on May 23.

BJP MP Arjun Ram Meghwal is the sitting parliamentarian from the seat. He will contest for the seat this time as well. Arjun Ram Meghwal has represented the constituency twice as a BJP candidate. In 2014 he had defeated INC fielded Er. Shankar Pannu with a margin of 3,08,079 votes.

In 2014 General elections, the polling percentage was 58.45%. The total male voters were 6,81,063 and female voters were 5,75,743 in 2014.

BJP's Arjun Ram Meghwal received 5,84,932 votes and INC candidate Er. Shankar Pannu received 2,76,853 votes. There was a huge margin of votes between the two candidates from the constituency of Bikaner. The BJP MP is the union minister of state, ministry of parliamentary affairs and ministry of water resources, river development and Ganga rejuvenation.

He was the union minister of state, ministry of finance and ministry of corporate affairs. A total of nine candidates are in fray for the seat this time, among which two are independent candidates.

In 2009, BJP's Arjun Ram Meghwal defeated INC candidate Rewat Ram Panwar with a overall margin of 19, 575 votes.

Among key contestants are Bhaira Ram from BSP, Madan Gopal Meghwal from INC and Shyopat Ram from CPI(M).
