About Alwar

The Alwar Lok Sabha constituency consists of eleven assembly segments. These are Tijara, Thanagazi, Kishangarh Bas, Mundawar, Behror, Alwar Rural, Bansure, Kathumar, Alwar Urban, Ramgarh and Rajgarh Laxmangarh.

In Lok Sabha Elections 2019, the key contestants are Imran Khan from BSP, Bhanwar Jitendra Singh from INC and Balak Nath is a candidate representing from BJP.

BJP candidate Chand Nath is the sitting MP from the seat. In 2014, he had defeated INC candidate Bhanwar Jitendra Singh with an overall margin of 2,83,895 votes.

In 2014 General elections, the polling percentage was 65.36%.

BJP's candidate Chand Nath received 6,42,278 votes and INC candidate Bhanwar Jitendra Singh received 3,58,383 votes.

From 2014 to 2017 Chand Nath was the sitting MP. Due to his ailing disease he died when he was in charge of the Alwar constituency. There was by- elections in the Alwar constituency and then BJP's Karan Singh Yadav was elected as the sitting MP.

A total of eleven candidates are in fray for the seat this time. There are five independent candidate in Jaipur constituency.

In 2009, INC's candidate Jitendra Singh defeated BJP candidate Dr Kiran Yadav with a overall margin of 1,56,619 votes. The winner received 4,50,119 votes in the 2009 General Elections while the runner up received 2,93,500 votes.
