About Jaipur

The Jaipur Lok Sabha constituency consists of eight assembly segments. These are Hawa Mahal, Vidhyadhar Nagar, Civil Lines, Kishan Pole, Adarsh Nagar, Malviya Nagar and Sanganer. While this Lok Sabha seat is reserved for scheduled caste category, Bagru assembly is the only reserved for candidates belonging to scheduled caste category.

In Lok Sabha Elections 2019, the key contestants are Umrao Salodia from BSP, Jyoti Khandelwal from INC and Ramcharan Bohra from BJP.

BJP candidate Ramcharan Bohara is the sitting MP from the seat. He is also contesting for 2019 election from Jaipur constituency. He is the member of the standing committee on transport, tourism and culture.

In 2014, he had defeated INC candidate Dr Mahesh Joshi with an overall margin of 5,39,345 votes.

In 2014 General elections, the polling percentage was 66.35%.

BJP's candidate Ramcharan Bohara received 8,63,358 votes and INC candidate Dr Mahesh Joshi received 3,24,013 votes.

A total of twenty four candidates are in fray for the seat this time. There is no independent candidate in Jaipur constituency.

In 2009, INC's candidate Mahesh Joshi defeated BJP candidate Ghanshyam Tiwari with a overall margin of 16,099 votes.
