About Jaipur Rural

The Jaipur Rural Lok Sabha constituency consists of eight assembly segments. These are Kotputli, Viratnagar, Shahpura, Phulera, Jhotwara, Amber and Bansur. While this Lok Sabha seat is reserved for scheduled tribe category, Jamwa Ramgarh assembly is the only reserved for candidates belonging to scheduled tribe category.

In Lok Sabha Elections 2019, the key contestants are Krishna Poonia from INC, Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore from BJP and Virender Singh Bidhuri from BSP.

BJP candidate Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore is the sitting MP from the seat. He is the member of state, ministry of youth affairs and sports and union minister of state and ministry of information and broadcasting.

In 2014 he had defeated INC Dr CP Joshi with an overall margin of 3,32,896 votes.

In 2014 General elections, the polling percentage was 59.77%.

BJP's Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore received 6,32,930 votes and INC candidate Dr CP Joshi received 3,00,034 votes.

A total of eight candidates are in fray for the seat this time. There is no independent candidate in Jaipur Rural constituency.

In 2009, INC's candidate Lal Chand Kataria defeated BJP candidate Rao Rajendra Singh with a overall margin of 52,237 votes.
