About Rajsamand

Rajsamand Lok Sabha Constituency is one of the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies from Rajasthan, India. It came into existence in 2008 after the delimitation of parliamentary constituencies. After the delimitation, first Lok Sabha elections were held for Rajsamand seat in 2009.

In 2009 General Elections, Gopal Singh from Indian National Congress won the seat from Rajsamand Lok Sabha Constituency. He received 2,99,451 votes. His opponent Rasa Singh Rawat from Bharatiya Janata Party. He received 2,48,561 votes. The voter turnout in the 2009 elections in Rajsamand was very low at 39.68 per cent.

Then in the 2014 General Elections, Rajsamand seat went to BJP candidate, Hariom Singh Rathore who received 6,44,794 votes. His closest opponent was Gopal Singh Shekhawat from Indian National Congress. He received 2,49,089 votes. The voter turnout improved for 2014 Lok Sabha elections and increased to 57.78 per cent.

In 2019 General Elections, there are 10 candidates contesting the elections including 5 independent candidates. They are Chenaram from Bahujan Samaj Party, Diya Kumari from BJP, Devkinandan (Kaka) from INC, Chandra Prakash Tanwar from Ambedkarite Party of India and Mishri Kathat from Indian Peoples Green Party. The five independent candidates contesting from Rajsamand are Jitendra Kumar Khatik, Neeru Ram Kapri, Bhanwar Lal Kumawat, Bhanwer Lal Malli and Rakesh Samdolav.
