Rahul's security: Centre writes to UP Chief Secy
NDTV Correspondent, Friday November 20, 2009, New Delhi

Just a day before Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi's visit to Amethi, a letter from the Centre to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary complaining about lapses in Rahul Gandhi's security cover has surfaced in the capital.

The letter issued on the October 27 cites two specific instances of lapses - one in Raebareli and the other in Amethi. Both instances happened this year.

The center has reportedly warned the state government to adhere to security norms.

Rahul and his sister Priyanka will visit this constituency on Friday to review works undertaken by women self help groups.

Rahul Gandhi would leave for New Delhi the same evening, while Priyanka would stay overnight at the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital guesthouse and leave on Saturday.

The Special Protection Guards providing security cover to the two have taken charge at the guesthouse.

The country is frustrated with amount of money that was spent for one family just providing security. If he wants to mingle with people and want to show one among them then where is the question of proving fool proof security.Else it is just a drama that is being enacted like going to dalit's hose.Enough is enough. This is not king's rule It is democracy.the money is tax payer's.Let wisdom prvail on the Govt.more so on this family which corroded India (like they travelled in Train)and not expect security and try not to have enemies.UP govt has other things to look after the most populus state than going behind Rahul's security.May Chitambaram is a slave and has nothing other than looking after the security of this family, but not expect the whole country to be like that.

When UP State Govt asked Congress to inform them of Rahul Gandhi's visit schedule, Congress refused as per media reports. Now how can it say there have been lapses on part of State Govt??
