| In India, politicians, film stars and Cricket players are enjoying the most. It is no surprise that Kapil Sibal and politicians of his ilk have no respect for academics. These politicians enjoy luxurious life with public money and contribute nothing. It is a shame these professors have to go these politicians with begging bowl. What an irony. People who are training the best and the brightest have to do this. The strangle hold of these politicians on the system need to be broken and their salary/perks should be substantially reduced. It is time these politicians realize they are there to serve people not to rule them. |

| The paradox between the two kind professionals, professional by choice vs professional by compulsion. Both of this category exists in IITs today, someone working in Healthcare in US (Doctors, nurses and lab technicians) earns an handsome amount and having a great living standard that of our fellow Indian counterpart. Not only professors in US earn a good salary, they run government projects and contribute enormously in research and development of America. Since the days of Manhattan project pioneering academicians from numerous university campuses have contributed and added turnkey technologies and scientific achievements in last 50 years in US. As a multicultural nation US managed a global workforce to achieve its scientific superiority. Whereas, in last 50 years ,India is able to produce great human resources to work in various areas in global market. The country which manages global work force is also powerful and capable enough to retain them. Professors in IIT have studied abroad; they stood in long lasting visa queues, and claim to achieve what an American graduate or professor achieved in a whole life time. If they would, then we could have a visibility towards it .Its better to know what is a choice and what is a compulsion |
