Our Home Minister has to be Mr. P Chidambaram. He has done so much for the security of the country in four months, that Mr. Shivraj Patil would not have done in four decades. Give Chidambaram the full five years to set things in order. He will establish a system of co ordination of the Police and other security service organisations all over the country. He will ensure that the whole police force is computerised so that any criminal anywhere in the country will not find himself very safe. For that matter even the politician will think twice of committing any crime as he will also be tracked. You can also be sure of one thing. Mr. Chidambaram will not buckle under pressure from other politicians who are not interested in the reforms. If he could take on the Left Front while he was the finance minister and still be very bold in his approach to reforms, we can definitely trust him to handle the Home Portfolio with distinction.
