The Election Commission has filed a case against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray for using abusive language against former Home Minister Shivraj Patil.

The case was filed with the Kothrud police station in Pune.

Speaking in Pune on Thursday, Raj had said if Patil ever came before him he would beat him with shoes.
