Kanpur boy's death: Jaiswal meets family
Kanpur: Congress MP and Union minister Sriprakash Jaiswal met the family of 8-year old Aman, after Congress president Sonia Gandhi expressed concern over the death of the boy in Kanpur. The boy could not be taken to hospital in time because of delays due to the Prime Minister's security.

Talking to media after the visit, Member of Parliament from Kanpur Sriprakash Jaiswal said that he has collected all the facts and would brief Sonia Gandhi and the Prime Minister Office (PMO).

NDTV had reported that Congress president Sonia Gandhi has sought action on eight-year old Aman Khan's death. She had even asked party MP Sriprakash Jaiswal to visit the family. (Read: Sonia Gandhi seeks action on 8-year-old Aman's death)

In a letter to Sonia Gandhi, Aman's mother had stated that roads had been blocked for the PM's visit to IIT-Kanpur. She claimed the diversion turned, what should have been a five-minute journey to a hospital a kilometre away, into a one-hour drive which turned fatal for the boy.
