Another Indian taxi driver beaten, abused in Australia
NDTV Correspondent, Saturday January 16, 2010, Melbourne
There's been yet another attack on an Indian in Australia.

Victoria police have revealed that there has been another attack on another Indian taxi driver in Ballarat on Friday night, this is in addition to the one reported on Friday.

Police say four teenage boys attacked the driver of the taxi they were travelling in. They abused him, spat on him and punched him before running away, leaving him badly bruised.

Like in all other previous cases, the police say this attack too is not racially motivated as the boys have committed similar crimes in the past.

An Friday, an Australian, accused of assaulting an Indian taxi driver in a Victorian city, was sentenced to three months in jail, hours after he verbally and physically abused the cabbie under a spell of alcohol.

Paul John Brogden, 48, from Ballarat in Western Victoria, who was arrested after he abused and assaulted the Indian, was sentenced after he pleaded guilty to threatening to kill the victim.

The taxi driver Satheesh Thatipamula, 24, was abused and assaulted and his vehicle damaged by Brogden, who believed he had taken him the wrong way.

Well Australians are just followig the Raj Thakare and Bal Thakares polices. What Australians are doing is not better than what Raj's party is doing in Maharashtra. I think we indians do not have any right to advice australia to stop racialism.
