Telangana victory March on Thursday

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) supporters and other pro-Telangana groups have converted their Chalo Assembly rally into a victory march on Thursday.

The government had put thousands of security personnel on guard for the planned rally, which originally asked supporters of a Telangana state to surround the Andhra Assembly.

Home Minister P Chidambaram announced the Centre's green light for a separate state on Wednesday at midnight. Within half an hour, TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao ended his 11-day hunger strike.

The resolution for a separate state will now be moved in the Andhra assembly.

The TRS has welcomed the Centre's announcement as a good "first step". However, it has warned that Hyderabad will have to be a part of the new state.

It shows that how much vulnerable we are as a nation. By creating a new small less poweful (will have less MP's in Parliament)State. What really is to be achieved? Common people of Andhra/Telangana will not be benefited out of it but now we will produce more politician, MLA's ( now there will be two State Assembly) and more buerocrats. Obviously it is extra burden on people; which they ( People ) will not realize until after 5-10 years. There are number of new states created in recent past and we see the results in terms of progress of people of those newly created states. It is for sure that life and struggle of Common people are not going to be cahnged for betterment and still we want another small state! Before Independence; how many states were their in our country? Do we really want to turn our clock back? We; as a nation really need to groom our selves as citizens of INDIA in real sense rather than boasting about false regional supremac. Let us face the challenges of TODAY as a Citizens of INDIA. Can we really leave behind our Weak-Link; state, city, religion or caste?
