The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued notice to Gujarat government on a petition filed by Jaswant Singh challenging ban on his book on Jinnah.

The apex court asked the state government to reply by September 8.

Jaswant's lawyer Fali wanted a stay on the ban but SC said at this stage give ex-parte stay cannot be given. The court said that it will issue notice to Gujarat government and take case up on September 8.

Meanwhile, Jaswant Singh has said that he won't resign from Public Accounts Committee. He also said that Advani and Rajnath should have read the book.
