Naidu to Sonia on Telangana: Pehle Aap
Press Trust of India, Tuesday March 2, 2010, Hyderabad

Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu has asked Congress president Sonia Gandhi to spell out her stand on the Andhra Pradesh bifurcation issue.

"Let her spell out her stand first, I will come out with mine," Naidu told reporters at the NTR Bhavan in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

The TDP chief has so far been evasive on the Telangana issue even as some of his party colleagues are split on regional lines over the burning issue.

"Both Telangana and Andhra-Rayalaseema are like my two eyes. People of both regions have supported and respected me for 28 years now. So, I have to take care of the two regions equally," he remarked.

sked what would the TDPs stand be before the Srikrishna Committee, appointed by the Centre to look into the separate statehood demand, Naidu said: "We are very clear. We will certainly spell out (our stand)."

He, however, did not elaborate on his "stand".

9 years cheif minister of andhra pradesh fear to tell his/party opinion is shame and instead asking his counter part to direct him is ridiculous. Naidu is the leader of an independent opposition party in Andhra pradesh and it is their responsibility to tell their opinion either for bifurcation/amalgamation.

I fully support Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu. In fact we need people like him at the center, holding big position for overall good of India. Why center would divide Andhra? By dividing we dilute the strength not increase. Let Andhra prosper as a whole state. Dilip Kumar De UTA, Arlington, Texas, USA
