Press Trust of India, Wednesday February 3, 2010, Bhabua
A farmer has been set ablaze by members of a particular caste over a land dispute in Kaimur district, police said on Wednesday.

The incident occurred on Tuesday when the farmer, Bhanu Dubey, was overseeing the day-to-day irrigation work in his field in Sapnitia village, Deputy Superintendent of police Sanjay Kumar said.

Dubey was caught hold by some members of a particular caste who tied him to a cot and set afire, killing him on the spot, Kumar said.

He said a large posse of policemen, led by Superintendent of police P K Srivastava, was camping at the site.
