Said and understood
Tuesday July 21, 2009
What they said was that there will not be any repeat of 26/11 but what they did not say is that there has been one attack after another on various cities in the country and there is no guarantee that these attacks will be stopped. This is what came out of the joint statement issued by the Indian and the Pakistani prime ministers. And while it is still being debated whether Manmohan Singh bowed before Pakistan and whether US pressurized India into doing so, what most of us have overlooked is that on one side Pakistan had accepted that there aren't just "non-state" actors who are responsible for terror acts in India but also that they can stop it if they want. Secondly, they will not do anything as stupid as 26/11 again as it gives India enough proof to expose them internationally, instead, acts like bomb blasts would be carried out so that the identity of the "actors" can always be debated. Such acts also rob them of opportunity to create ambiguity in the minds of minorities who this time had clear proof of involvement of Pakistan and Islamic militants. They refused to let these attackers be buried.

Right from 2006, bombs went off in almost every part of the country and the explosions stopped only after 26/11. Mind you, it isn't that our security and intelligence apparatus has suddenly become the world's best but it's just out "friends" across the border must have decided to keep it low owing to the international attention that the attack got them. A few months more and it will start all over again. No wonder that the IB is religiously sending out alerts, they, however are reluctant to say that the alerts are based on pictures that were snapped about 3 years back so the best thing to do is to send out periodic alerts and in case something does happen then they can easily wash off their hands saying "we warned you."

But then they also have their arguments. There are so many agencies involved in gathering and collating the information that most of the time the information gathered is lost or ignored and we have seen that happening in Kargil as well. The very same agencies who are expected to guard us have in fact turned allies to terror due to their botched up operations. The sim cards used in 26/11 attacks are a clear proof of that. To add to the misery, the agencies even disclosed their agent's name and arrested him.

An another matter that came up at the NAM meet and raises questions is that arms bearing "Made in India" marks were found by Pakistani defence forces in Balochistan thus indicting Indian agencies for fomenting trouble in that region. It brought a smile on my face. If only our agencies were as good as Pakistan claims them to be . In that case, not a single instance of terror would have unfolded in our country.  And if India had such quality in terms of arms manufacture then we wouldn't need to procure them from every possible part of the world. The terrorism and unrest in Pakistan has been home grown and if India would really be giving away arms then it would at least be giving away arms with foreign markings like Pakistan has sent Arges hand grenades for various attacks in India.  May be India helped LTTE but never were they found with arms "Made in India."

May be world wants us to talk to Pakistan but is the world facing the kind of threat that we are. Do they realize that while we talk to them, they use that time to hatch a new controversy. Didn't Kargil happen right after Vajpayee's visit to Pakistan. Weren't we talking then. US can even afford to talk to Taliban but we can't talk to Pakistan. Our enemy is right at our doorstep. We share our borders with them. They don't and that's why come up with weird concepts like "moderate" Taliban. We cannot afford to fall into that trap where we know that the conspirators of Kargil either held position in power at the time of the war or later on went on to become president.

The whole idea of talks should be taken up only after both parties work at same level. We cannot be talking to them while knowing what they are capable of doing. They are back stabbers and we should know it by now and let the world know it too.

The case of Pakistan bringing up the issue of weapons "Made in India" shows their foolishness. I guess the cross border terror has never stopped in India. Right from my school days during Kargil war, every day incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, series of bomb blasts during my college hostel days when my and my peers parents use to call us and instruct not to go to movie halls and market places during republic day or independence day. It never stopped and to add to the irony, the government either BJP or Congress, could just hold unyielding talks and the so-called negotiations instead of getting aggressive in tackling terror. Its pity to see human life becoming so vulnerable.

Your analysis is splendid indeed. But the deductions are at a tangent. The birth of the two dominions, namely, India and Pakistan , was after a bloody bath.Hence, the bitterness of those who had the traumatic impact of 1946/47, led them to be sworn enemies of each other. But the general public on either side of the border was yearning for free travel and meeting old pals & relatives. Religious fanatics in each part was against the wishes of the peace -lovers and they caused the growth of the "terrorists!"After many misadventures the Govt.s of both countries have realized that they had "enough of it!"Now, as never before, we have to live together and work in close collaboration to weed out the terrorists with US aid, if need be.

Each state for themselves; Punjab is the richest, Rajasthan has industrial leaders, Bangalore has the IT sector, while New Deli and Mumbai are rooting from the core. Leads to say that there is a power struggle and whoever guaranties security will prevail while the others will fall behind. Also Britain created Pakistan and Britain will destroy Pakistan. Alas we found freedom they never did.

Shailendra has hit the nail on its head by saying "They are back stabbers and we should know it by now and let the world know it too".From my childhood I have been reading about talk between India and Pakistan on issues like terrorism and Kashmir and net outcome till date is absolute ZERO.I seriously feel that India and Pakistan cant work on same level.Irrespective of what they promise during talks they have their own plans which are very much different from what rest of the world will agree to.Its high time India should start to take some serious steps to curb this terrorist attacks even if it causes serious rift with Pakistan.

think what s happen with hindus==part -2 In Andhra Pradesh, Hindu temples, institutions, and Hinduism itself are illegally targeted by the crusade of the government. Under the Temple Empowerment Act, about 34,000 temples had come under government control. Only 18% of the revenue of these temples is said to be given back for temple purposes, while the remaining 82% is used for other things by the government at their discretion. Such looting, massive sale of temple lands, demolition of temples, encroachments of temple properties, and the utilization of aggressive religious conversion tactics by Christians in the vicinity of temples is occurring all over Andhra Pradesh. The government, which is supposed to be a protector has become a destroyer of the culture, which threatens the very existence of Hindu institutions. Only after large public protests has the state government given back a majority of the temples, yet the most profitable were still kept under state control. Even the world famous sacred temple at Tirumala-Tirupati is not spared. This temple collects over Rs. 3,100 crores (tens of millions) every year, and the state government has not denied the charge that as much as 85% of this is transferred to the state exchequer, much of which goes to causes that are not connected with the Hindu community or Vedic temples. The government also attempted to take over 5 out of 7 Tirumala hills for churches and tourism for the profit of development companies and other affiliates not connected with the temple. The 1000 pillar Mantapam hall was illegally demolished. Recently, in response to Sri Chinnajeeyar Swami%u2019s petition, the Andhra Pradesh High Court has declared the demolition illegal and instructed the TTD management at Tirupati to reconstruct it. If anyone has seen the Tirupati temple and the difference there is without the 1000 pillar hall, it is shocking. The Andhra Pradesh government also allowed the demolition of at least 10 temples for the construction of a golf course. Imagine the outcry, protests, and riots that would have happened if that would be suggested for a mosque. The son of the Chief Minister even blew up the Sunkulamma Hindu Temple in Anantapur, and his brother, by constructing his own building, has encroached on Gurukula trust lands worth crores (tens of millions) of rupees. While taking extra precautions to protect churches and mosques with money from the state treasury, the government has been selling or donating, for various government schemes and non-Hindu purposes, tens of thousands of acres of temple lands worth thousands of crores of rupees that are meant for the perpetual sustenance of the temples. This will irreparably cripple these Hindu institutions. Of course, that seems to be part of the plan. The temples and Maths that did not earlier come under government supervision are taken into government control for selling away their lands. The State Endowment Board with 77,000 employees, all of whom are supported by 15-18 percent of the income from 33,000 temples, has done little for the welfare of the Hindu institutions. At the same time, priests of temples are penniless and temples are decaying due to lack of maintenance. Hindu priests do not want to train children in priestly activities for lack of economical basis. This seems to be the goal of the government to systematically wipe out Vedic culture across India.

Being 34 years old right now i had been hearing of the Indo Pak dialogue and blah blah since alteast 1985. What had we attained? Nothing but a new war on a new front. Had there been any terror attack on US since 9/11? No. We shouldnt be happy and enjoy the peace which we are since 26/11? The terrorist may have been preparing a new terror module from a new place. First it was Punjab, then J & K and now whole nation. See how powerful the enemies had become. We have to be cautious and counter their plans aggressively.

The U.S.is just playing the part of a savior of Pakistan at the cost of India, using its image as a leading country. All Indians are aware of this fact and they can tackle their own problems.

"It brought a smile on my face. If only our agencies were as good as Pakistan claims them to be" - Well put.. It is time we stop yielding to US pressure and start acting! Our leaders have to accept the unfortunate fact that the Mahatma era is long gone by. Non-Violence and dialog just cannot happen with a country like Pakistan..
