Twisha Sharma Death Highlights: Twisha Sharma was on Sunday cremated at the Bhadbhada cremation ground in Bhopal. Her body was handed over to her family following the completion of the second autopsy by a special team of doctors from AIIMS Delhi.

Twisha's husband and prime accused, Samarth Singh, was sent to seven days' police remand by a Bhopal court on Saturday, giving investigators crucial custodial time to question him over his alleged conduct after Twisha's death and the circumstances surrounding the case.

Samarth, a lawyer by profession, had allegedly been evading arrest since May 12, the day Twisha was found dead at her matrimonial home in Bhopal. He was taken into custody on Friday after he appeared at the Jabalpur District Court, where he had reportedly arrived to surrender. The Jabalpur police later handed him over to the Bhopal police, who produced him before the court.

Twisha Sharma Death Case Highlights:

AIIMS Delhi Forensic Team Inspects Crime Scene

In a significant development in the high-profile Twisha Sharma death case, a four-member forensic team from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi completed the second post-mortem examination of Twisha Sharma's body, which had been kept in the AIIMS Bhopal mortuary, on Sunday.

The second autopsy, which lasted nearly three to four hours, was conducted under strict scientific protocols and was fully videographed to ensure transparency.

Following the autopsy, the AIIMS Delhi team, accompanied by police officials, visited the crime scene at the residence of Twisha's mother-in-law Giribala Singh in Bhopal's Katara Hills area.

The team thoroughly inspected the house and surrounding areas to correlate physical evidence with the post-mortem findings.

This visit is considered crucial for reconstructing the sequence of events on May 12, when 33-year-old Twisha Sharma, a former model and actress from Noida, was found hanging under suspicious circumstances.

Pregnancy To Fights, How Bhopal Cops Could Grill Twisha Sharma's Husband

In the increasingly sensitive and explosive Twisha Sharma death case, the next seven days may become the most crucial phase of the investigation. Accused husband Samarth Singh is now in the custody of Bhopal Police for seven days, and top police sources involved in the investigation indicate that the questioning will not be limited to a simple narration of events. Investigators are expected to examine his version layer by layer - the relationship, the alleged disputes, Twisha's pregnancy, her movements before death, the crime scene, call records, CCTV footage, and Samarth's conduct after the incident.

According to police sources, the first line of questioning before Samarth Singh is likely to be the most basic yet most decisive: What exactly happened on May 12 - the day Twisha died. Investigators want a minute-by-minute account of the day, what Twisha did from morning till evening, where she went, whom she spoke to, what her emotional condition appeared to be, and whether there was any confrontation inside the house before her death.

Police sources indicate that Samarth may also be taken to the crime scene for spot verification.

Twisha Sharma's Last Rites Will Be Held Today At 5 PM

Twisha Sharma's last rites will be performed at Bhopal's Bhadbhada crematorium at 5 pm today, her brother, Major Harshit said.

"More than 10 days have passed, and the body has undergone several changes. Transporting it to Delhi is not possible, so the last rites will be performed in Bhopal," he said.

Twisha Sharma's Husband Recalls Dispute Over Ajmer Trip Hours Before Her Death

Twisha Sharma's behavior changed after her pregnancy was confirmed on April 17, her husband Samarth Singh told police during interrogation, in contrast to claims his questions to his wife on the unborn child's father had caused her distress.

Tensions between the couple became commonplace in their marriage that lasted five months, with them fighting over taking a trip to Rajasthan's Ajmer, hours before she was found hanging at their Bhopal residence on May 12.

Messages exchanged between Twisha Sharma and her mother had mentioned tensions over her pregnancy, while detailing a hostile environment at her in-laws' home. She made repeated requests to her parents to take her away from there, with one message stating, "Mera dum ghut raha hai maa (I am feeling suffocated, mother)."

'No Sign Of Remorse': Twisha Sharma's Brother On Samarth Singh's Gesture

A packed courtroom, intense public scrutiny and a visibly calm demeanour marked the appearance of the accused Samarth Singh before the Court of Judicial Magistrate Anudita Gupta in Bhopal on Saturday, where he was sent to seven days of police remand in connection with the alleged suicide case of his wife Twisha Sharma.

Samarth was brought to the Magistrate court amid heavy police security, and as he stood in the dock, all eyes in the courtroom remained fixed on him, closely observing his expressions and conduct during the proceedings.

Despite the gravity of the allegations and mounting public attention surrounding the case, he appeared calm and composed throughout the hearing. He was seen interacting normally with his lawyers and showed no visible signs of nervousness or fear.

Notably, unlike his appearance before the Jabalpur District Court on Friday -- where he had covered his face with a mask and cap while surrendering -- Samarth appeared in the Bhopal court without concealing his face.

Twisha's brother Major Harshit Sharma, who was also present during the proceedings at very close distance, later claimed that Samarth displayed no remorse over his wife's death.

"I have not spoken to Samarth, nor did I express any desire to do so. However, there was absolutely no remorse visible on his face regarding his wife's death. There was no sign of grief over his wife's demise on his face when he appeared in court," Major Harshit Sharma said.

Bhopal Police To Seek 7-Day Remand Of Accused Samarth Singh

Bhopal Police is seeking a seven-day remand of Samarth Singh, husband of deceased Twisha Sharma and the prime accused in her death case, officials informed on Saturday. After Singh was taken into custody from Jabalpur, police also asserted that three notices had been served to his mother and a former judge, Giribala Singh.

Addressing a press conference, Bhopal Commissioner of Police Sanjay Kumar said Samarth Singh would first undergo a medical examination before being produced in court.

"First, we will get his medical done and file a PR (Personal Recognisance Bond) from the Court. We will ask for seven days' remand. He was brought in quite late at night. Some procedures still take time. We'll interrogate him further, and only then can we say anything. When he is questioned in detail, if something comes to light that someone sheltered him, action will be taken against them as well," Kumar said.

Explaining the arrest, Kumar said Samarth Singh had attempted to surrender before a court in Jabalpur, but police took him into custody after the court refused to allow the surrender.

"He had come to the court in Jabalpur to surrender, but the court refused to let him surrender. Meanwhile, my team was also there. Then, my team took him into custody with the help of the Jabalpur police team," he said.

Twisha Sharma's Family Demands Speedy CBI Probe Into Death

After the Madhya Pradesh government recommended a CBI enquiry into the suspicious death of actress Twisha Sharma, her family on Saturday welcomed the decision and demanded a speedy investigation along with a fast-track trial to ensure quick justice to the young woman and her family.

Speaking to IANS, Twisha Sharma's cousin said that action in the case had been delayed initially, but recent developments in the judiciary had raised hopes for a fair investigation.

"Overall, we feel that the action taken in the case was quite delayed. However, the judiciary has recently taken several important decisions. Permission has now been granted, and the court has also observed that the bail granted to Giribala Singh was taken in haste. I welcome this decision and hope that the CBI will investigate the matter properly and without delay," the cousin said.

Referring to the arrest of Samarth Singh, Twisha's husband, the family member further alleged that the accused had received support from influential people earlier.

"As everyone saw, the accused was sitting inside the court premises. But now those who were supporting him will realise that extending such support is against the law," the relative added.

Former judge Giribala Singh, booked for the death of her daughter-in-law Twisha Sharma, allegedly due to dowry harassment, said on Saturday that she would be happy to record her statement, but Bhopal Police have not reached out to her.

She cited a chaotic situation outside her house, apparently referring to a posse of media persons, while expressing her inability to step out.

A day earlier, the Madhya Pradesh High Court issued notice to Singh on pleas seeking cancellation of her anticipatory bail in the case and sought her response by May 25. Two days ago, Bhopal Police issued a third and final notice to Singh after she allegedly failed to appear for the recording of her statement.

"I cannot venture out of my home. Yesterday (Friday), a car hit my advocate. I cannot step out at all due to the situation outside. Twisha Sharma's Brother-In-Law On Samarth Singh's Arrest

Samarth Singh's attempt to surrender after withdrawing his bail is a 'well-planned conspiracy', Twisha Sharma's brother-in-law, Saurabh Sharma, alleged on Saturday. Samarth Singh is the prime accused in the death case of 33-year-old Twisha Sharma. Singh was arrested by the Bhopal police on Saturday after he showed a willingness to surrender after withdrawing his bail plea.

Speaking to ANI, Saurabh Sharma said that the accused, Samarth Singh, planned the surrender after withdrawing his bail and executed the plan before the deceased's family could get the case study.

"His surrender in Jabalpur is a well-planned conspiracy. He did something in the process because earlier, when we were in the High Court, he was on bail. He withdrew his bail and planned to surrender. Then, somewhere, before we could get the case study, before the order could come, he went to the police station and surrendered. There was a lot of indecency going on there. There were a lot of lawyers, a lot of them were abusing. The media was also unable to do anything there. None of the family members was allowed inside. He was brought here at 2:30 am to the morning, to the Khatara Hills police station," he said.

Police Officer Delivers High Court Notice At Giribala Singh's Residence

A police officer arrived at the residence of Giribala Singh, mother-in-law of deceased Twisha Sharma, in Bhopal on Saturday and said he had come to serve a High Court notice in connection with the case.

Speaking to reporters outside the residence, the officer said, "I have brought a High Court notice."

When asked whether the notice was for Giribala Singh, he replied, "Yes."

Later, while leaving the residence after giving her (Giribala Singh) a notice, the Police officer told reporters, "This was a High Court notice. My senior officers will tell you more."

Meanwhile, Siddharth Singh, brother of the prime accused Samarth Singh, Twisha Sharma's husband, and an accused in the case, was seen leaving the residence along with a team of lawyers.

The development comes amid the ongoing investigation into the Twisha Sharma death case, in which the Madhya Pradesh government has already recommended a CBI probe.

Earlier on Friday, the prime accused in the death case of 33-year-old Twisha Sharma, her husband Samarth Singh, was taken into police custody and will be produced before a court within 24 hours, police said.

"Giribala Singh A Criminal Mind With Law Experience": Shobhaa De On Twisha Sharma Case

Twisha Sharma's mysterious death has shocked the conscience of the country and has laid bare many uncomfortable truths about the society. A young girl, with her ambitions and dreams, dead in her marital home just five months into what seems from marriage videos a dreamy wedding. Husband on the run, a mother-in-law out to defame the dead daughter-in-law, a system that moves slow, and the girl's family in a desperate fight for justice.

"It all seems like a massive cover-up," says noted author and columnist Shobhaa De. "In this day and age where anyone's location can be traced easily and it's possible to catch even an Osama Bin Laden, how is it possible that Twisha's husband Samarth Singh remained untraceable for 10 days," she asks in anger.

"He Wasn't Hiding": Lawyer Of Twisha Sharma's Husband On His Disappearance

Samarth Singh disappeared shortly after his wife, Twisha Sharma, allegedly died by suicide on May 12. He remained incommunicado for 10 days. Bhopal Police was forced to announce a criminal bounty on him. All this, his lawyer argues, isn't enough to classify his long and unexplained absence as hiding.

"He was not hiding. There's a provision under section 482 of the new BNSS, which gives every person a right to apply for anticipatory bail if he has been unnecessarily made an accused in a case which has no nexus with the person. So he availed that right, but then I advised him to better surrender," Mrigendra Singh told NDTV in an interview, hours after Samarth Singh was arrested in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur, where he had tried to surrender before the local court but was turned away.

Twisha Sharma's Family Thanks High Court For CBI Inquiry, 2nd Post-Mortem

Family members of alleged dowry death victim Twisha Sharma on Friday thanked the Madhya Pradesh government and the High Court for announcing a CBI inquiry into the case and ordering a second post-mortem to be conducted by AIIMS Delhi, respectively.

The High Court passed the order while hearing a petition filed by Twisha Sharma's family, which had challenged a lower court's refusal to allow a fresh post-mortem examination. The family argued that several inconsistencies and procedural lapses in the first autopsy raised doubts about the fairness of the investigation.

Speaking to IANS, Twisha's cousin Ashish Sharma expressed his gratitude to the judiciary.

"Now the action that the administration has to take should be carried out immediately, without any delay. After that, we will proceed with the last rites."

"For the past ten days, we have been continuously struggling and appealing for this. We hope that by today or tomorrow, the entire process and action will be completed properly," he added.

Madhya Pradesh Government Moves High Court For Cancelling Giribala Singh's Interim Bail

The development came amid intensifying legal proceedings in the high-profile case that has triggered widespread public attention and demands for an impartial investigation.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and Madhya Pradesh Advocate General Prashant Singh represented the state government before the High Court.

The Advocate General said the state had urged the court to take note of the alleged non-cooperation by the accused despite the conditional interim bail granted earlier by a Bhopal court.

"We requested the court to note that while the Bhopal District Court had granted conditional interim bail to Giribala Singh, the prosecution is not receiving the requisite cooperation. Furthermore, we also submitted that there is a possibility that evidence could be compromised in some manner. Therefore, her anticipatory bail should be cancelled," he said.

Samarth Singh Enroute Bhopal

Twisha Sharma's Husband, Samarth Singh, Arrested After 10 Days On The Run

Having evaded the police for 10 days since his wife, Twisha Sharma, was found hanging at their home in Bhopal, Samarth Singh has finally been arrested.

Twisha's family has alleged she was harassed for dowry and demanded strict action against Samarth and his mother, retired judge Giribala Singh.

Samarth, a lawyer, went to a Jabalpur court to surrender hours after withdrawing his anticipatory bail application in the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The court asked him to surrender before a court in Bhopal and a police team, which was on the premises, took him into custody.

"Look at how the son of a retired judge is being protected. He has no authority to surrender in the District Court, Jabalpur. We learned that he has come to surrender. There has been no surrender. Inside the courtroom of the District Court, Jabalpur, Samarth Singh was sitting comfortably in the dark, with all the lights off, wearing a mask. The judge was not on the dais. There were three clerks present there. I asked them in what capacity they had kept him there. They had no answer to my question. As soon as Samarth Singh saw me, he ran away. His lawyers pushed me away. I have no idea whether the police came here or not," said Twisha Sharma's lawyer, Anurag Srivastav.

Twisha Sharma Dowry Death And The Case Of The Ever-Innocent Indian Husband

On the morning her family found her, Twisha's death had already been scripted by everyone except the investigators. The initial post-mortem report noted ligature marks. The nylon rope that her in-laws' neighbours distinctly recalled seeing on the terrace that morning was never recovered, never tagged, never produced before the magistrate.

Within 72 hours of her death, a media narrative had overtaken the forensic one: anonymous sources whispered to local reporters about "erratic behaviour", a "history of depression", and alleged drug use. None of it was ever substantiated in a chargesheet. But it did not need to be. The media trial had served its purpose - it muddied the waters just enough to give investigators an excuse to look the other way.

This procedural failure is not an anomaly. It is a symptom of a deeper institutional problem - one in which the machinery of investigation, prosecution, and public discourse collectively conspires to ensure that the crime of dowry death remains simultaneously rampant and unpunished.
