Uproar in J&K Assembly over Shopian case
NDTV Correspondent, Wednesday August 12, 2009, Srinagar
There is uproar in the J&K Assembly over the Shopian rape and murder case. The opposition parties - PDP and CPI-M - have raised the issue of DNA samples of the rape victims being fudged.

Some National Conference MLAs also demanded that the case be handed over to the CBI.

Mehbooba Mufti accused that people at the highest level are involved in fudging samples of the two women who were raped and murdered in Shopian.

Meanwhile, a CBI forensic report has said that the body fluids of the rape victims don't match their viscera report.

Also, none of the police semen samples match the swabs from the two victims. The CBI has sent the report to the J&K special investigation team. The report indicates tampering of evidence during investigation.
