No Taliban infiltration in India: Army
Press Trust of India, Tuesday April 14, 2009, New Delhi

Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor on Tuesday said there is no "trace" of Taliban in the country amid reports some of these elements have infiltrated but women are being "trained" on the other side of the Line of Control (LoC) to cross over for terror acts.

Gen Kapoor also said the Army would continue to "neutralise" elements trying to disturb peace and security in the country.

"Whether it is LeT, JeM or HUJI militant or Taliban, whosoever tries to disturb peace and stability of the region, he will be dealt with in the same fashion and will be neutralised," he told reporters.

Asked about reports that some 30 Taliban have infiltrated into India, Kapoor said, "As far as the Indian Army is concerned, we have had no trace of Taliban."

Asked about the possibility of involvement of women handlers in the Pulwama encounter in Jammu and Kashmir that ended on Monday with the killing of two militants, Gen Kapoor said, "We have information that women are being trained on the other side to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir."

"It is possible that women may be involved in giving directions to the terrorists," he added.

Kapoor said that Army was "fully prepared" to deal with the situation if there was any information about infiltration of women in the country.

The General said the Army had expected "calibration" in infiltration around the election time.

Is the statement coming at this time related to elections ? Should not be. But we never know as Generals look forward to lucrative appointments post retirement and their favour is returned if they toe the Govt's line. How can we say No Taliban. There are hundred of militants inside our territory and this is a well known fact verified by the daily intercepts of the radio communication which they have with their mentors across in POK. They may or may not be taliban. As such the Talibans wont have a hackle on their head for them to be differnetiated. As far as we are considered, whether Taliban or otherwise they are all terrorists and they should be annihilated if they do not give up and give a fight. Regards SM Bharadwaj

This man is sleeping.Soon he will be kicked one day by Taliban, and he will have nowhere to hide.Indian army cannot match them.No wonder we chickened out in war post 26/11. The great "CHACHA" Nehru was sleeping when China gobbled Tibet. He was sleeping when Chinese kicked him hard in 1962.Earlier also Nehru was caught napping in Kashmir in 1947-48,and like a mouse he went to UN. We Indians don't learn from history.TALIBAN IS AT OUR DOORSTEP.
