Mumbai: Woman injured in Sena-police clash
NDTV Correspondent, Monday June 8, 2009, Mumbai

There were reports of violence on the Western Express Highway near Mumbai on Monday where the road to the airport was partly blocked after Shiv Sainiks attacked Reliance office in Santa Cruz.

The Reliance office was attacked for allegedly over-charging customers for electricity dues.

The police had to resort to lathicharge to control the situation, but in the process brutally hit a woman on her face leaving her on the road to nurse her wounds.

The woman is reportedly one of the Shiv Sainik protesters who had come there to vandalise the Reliance office for allegedly overcharging customers for electricity bills.

The Maharashtra assembly has been adjourned again because the Shiv Sena is protesting against the treatment meted out to protesting Sainiks by the police.

It's useless. I dont know what they will acheive by doing all this. Our govt is only reponsible for all these. People dont have trust in our courts/laws and decission making bodies, so they end up doing all, thinking it will solve the problems. Laws should be more strict and every person should get chance to give his say. And also not a chance to give his say but decissions should be based on everyones concerns and not a single person or politician or business man. Present eveything is based on power and status in society.
