Maharashtra: Attack on doctors now non-bailable offence
NDTV Correspondent, Friday April 9, 2010, Mumbai
The Maharashtra Assembly has given its nod to a bill which now makes attacks on government doctors a non-bailable offence.

Those convicted can face jail terms upto five years and fines upto Rs 50,000.

The bill comes following the demands of the state's resident doctors who time and again have been attacked by relatives of patients who died in hospitals.
