The West Bengal government will on Thursday announce the details of the high-powered commission looking into the into the Kolkata inferno.

Home Secretary Ardhendu Sen had announced the formation of the inquiry committee to investigate the Stephen Court fire on Thursday.

But what could prove to be a big obstacle in fixing responsibility and punishing the guilty is the sudden disappearance of the Municipal Corporation's files on the top two illegal floors of Stephen Court. (Read: Court stops demolition of Stephen Court )
