Festivals are all about creating memories with friends and family over good food and funny anecdotes. This is exactly what actors Vicky Kaushal and Malavika Mohanan did on Saturday on the occasion of Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala. The actors, who are childhood friends, celebrated the festival with a traditional Onam sadya (feast) at Malavika's home. Given that Malavika is a Malayali, she played the perfect host to Vicky Kaushal and his family. Sharing candid images of the festivities, Malavika wrote, “Childhood friends, family, yummy food and lots of laughter. Best way to spend Onam!”
The set of pictures that Malavika has shared begins with one of Vicky and Malavika, hugging and posing for the camera. This is followed by images of the family members, the Onam sadya and the pookalam, which is the traditional flower decoration made during the festival across homes. “P.S The ‘M' in the flower arrangement is for ‘Mohanans',” Malavika added in the caption.
One of the images also features Malavika's father, cinematographer K. U. Mohanan and Vicky Kaushal's father, action director Sham Kaushal along with their families.

On Instagram Stories, Malavika wrote, “Friends are like family. So heartwarming to celebrate Onam with a family I have practically grown up with. Missed you Sunny Kaushal,” referring to Vicky's brother, actor Sunny Kaushal who could not make it to the celebration.
Vicky also went on to share images from the occasion on Instagram Stories. "Jaadu ki jhappi (magical hug) for my host and dost (friend) Malavika," he wrote, sharing a photo in which he is seen with Malavika. Reposting Vicky's Instagram Stories, Malavika wrote, “Happy Onam to and from my earliest childhood friend.” Vicky had also shared an image of the sumptuous spread that the Mohanan household had prepared for the occasion.
On the work front, Vicky Kaushal was last seen in Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship. His upcoming projects include Mr Lele, Sardar Udham Singh, The Great Indian Family and Sam Bahadur.
Malavika Mohanan, on the other hand, is best known for her work in Majid Majidi's Beyond the Clouds, Petta and Master. She will be seen next in Maaran and Yudhra.
