Judges are also human being why they should be treated above rest of country man. after all it is our judiciary which has failed to deliver justice because of lack of accountability in system. if you take bribe for petty amount our judicial system will punish you however if you do fraud for thousand of crores our judicial system will treat like son in law. In India justice is like prostitute, available to only those who can afford it. it is merit of lawyers which is deciding factor not the merit of of case. crores of cases are pending before courts and courts are closed for summer and winter vacation like school kid? why they can not work same number of days and hours as any other government body?

The judges who have been empowered by law to convict an accused & can serve an accused to death sentence must show that he is clean.

I think the Poll result says it all.. Every Indian has to declare their assets and contribute their bit towards the betterment of the Indian Constitution.

The Constitution of India provide the citizen of India the Right to Equal Opportunity. The judges are supreme authority for controlling the violation of any kind of equality. As such they must first declare their assests/property for their transparent judgement/ideas.

The declaration of assets by judges should be pracised as an exercise in judicial probity and would enhance the image of judges in the eyes of the public.

i dont think judges should declare asset bcoz if we want judges to declare assets why not employees from other departments are required to do the same...???
Posted by Ennor on Sep 24, 2009
Yes. They must declare and recent findings of Judge in bangalore clearly stating that Judiciary in India is highly corrupted. This might reduce corruption among Judges level.

Yes, why not but still it is not going to be genuine similar to that of politicians and other public servants I very strongly feel. Please imagine whether it would be 100% true inspite of the highest respectful office one holds. But of course it is good and needed since the law tells that any individual irrespective of status etc is definitely bound by the same in a country.

A judge is a responsible position, which if misused can tear the fabric of a civilised society. To ensure that this does not happen, such steps should be made mandatory.

People exposed to public dealings should declare not only their assets but also spouse and dependent children.

No one should be above law and it should be
mandatory to judges to declare the assets.
once they show the way automatically people
would bring facts about themselves. so many
would show their own interest to declare their
assets. it will also set aside the wrong notion
in amasing wealth by judges in the minds of
general public

I think it is a welcome move. Such asset declaration can enhance the confidence of common people on our judiciary.

As a standard rule, everybody who has control over public funds or who is a policymaker, lawmaker, Judge or law enforcer must declare their assets because they have every opportunity to accumulate illegitimate funds.

The judges should be above reproach.

The judges are the best judge to figure out the loopholes in our judicary so even if they are forced to declare their assets i am sure they will find a way out for their surplus assets to slip through.

Its good for democracy.
