Women's Bill: Munde asks for OBC sub-quota
NDTV Correspondent, Sunday April 11, 2010, New Delhi

Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Gopinath Munde wants an Other Backward Classes (OBC) sub quota in the Women's Reservation Bill.

He also wants a headcount of OBCs in the 2011 Census exercise, arguing that this is imperative if benefits of government schemes are to adequately reach the OBC population.

"OBC count should be included in the census. It was not being done because some people fear OBCs will come together once they know their true strength," he said.

Munde also appeared to be in agreement with the demand for a sub-quota for OBC women in the Women's Reservation Bill.

Think of a common forward caste male person. Against him 83 % quota is imposed. He has to compete in 17% Genaral quota. In India Law is against him. Quota Balakrishnan- CJI has to think.
