Sri Lanka on Sunday took strong objection to AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa's remarks that Tamil Eelam was the only solution for the ethnic conflict, saying she should "find some other place to give Eelam" but not on the island.

"I don't know what these people are talking about. I think she must find some other place to give Eelam but not in Sri Lanka," said Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

He also took objection to Jayalalithaa's allegation that the video footage provided by spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravishankar, who recently visited the IDP centre in Wavuniya in eastern Sri Lanka, showed that the Tamils were being treated badly by the government.

The AIADMK chief made these comments at a public meeting in Tamil Nadu on Saturday.

"When Ravishankar met President (Mahinda Rajapaksa) after visiting the IDP camps he said it was one of the best camps he has ever seen in the world," the powerful official, who is the brother of the President, said.

Rajapaksa said he could understand the concern for the fate of civilians expressed by the international community and else where.

Such comments that secession is fine, dont understand the long term consequences, for India and the world. If the southern or northern part of Tamil Nadu, wants to secede from TN or India, will politicians show the same stand. In this small earth, we already have 200 odd countries, and 90% of the existing countries itself are not able to provide living to its citizens, lets discuss on uniting existing countries, which separated in the past, rather than of creating new countries. The world should not be divided further, on linguistic or communal or race basis.

It is very unfortunate a responsible political leader Jayalalitha is telling that Tamil Elam has to be a separate country. Did she think the problem around us first. If india force Sri Lanka to get a separate country for Elam, then our boarder states will ask the same think. There are lot of Tamilians in Singapore, so one fine day she will tell Tamilians should get their right in Singapore too? She is telling utter none sense!!!!!!!!!!
