17 Pune students test positive for swine flu

Seventeen students of a boarding school at Shirgaon in Pune district have tested positive for swine flu, health officials said on Wednesday.

Five of these kids are being treated across hospitals in Pune and the rest have been discharged.

Most of the parents have taken their wards home after the spread of the infection in the K K Birla School which housed around 500 students in its hostel.

Meanwhile, eight fresh cases of swine flu were reported in the city on Tuesday, they added.

Pune has so far registered 35 swine flu casualties, highest in the country.
