Congress party is confident of victory in the coming Maharashtra Assembly elections. And they hope to gain a comfortable majority.

Speaking to NDTV, Congress leader Vilasrao Deshmukh said that there is no 'mood shift' away from the Congress, and the Congress-NCP combine will have absolute majority in the Assembly.

"NCP has learnt a lot from the Lok Sabha elections and has taken steps to see they do well this time. The rebel candidates won't be much of a problem," he said.

Development is the key issue for us, he added.

On the power crisis issue raised by the Opposition, Deshmukh said, "Maharashtra will have no load-shedding by 2012."

Deshmukh also ruled out any liaison with Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). "There is no question of taking or accepting MNS support, because ideologically, Congress and MNS are totally different," he said.
