Blast in Peshawar: 41 killed, 100 injured

A powerful blast rocked the Khyber Bazaar area in Peshawar on Friday, killing at least 41 people, including women, and injuring over 100.

The casualty figure may go up. It was a huge car bombing. The car was parked in an area, which was very congested. Police say they are investigating.

The blast occurred in an area which has key government office, and is very near to the North West Frontier Assembly.

The assembly was in session when the blast took place.

The terrorist have achieved a level of sophistication, using mortar shell to cause maximum damage. Mortar shells were packed and kept in a car which caused this huge explosion.
