The BJP turned the heat on the government over the Indo-Pak joint statement issued in Egypt recently.

The Opposition was apparently irked over the inclusion of Balochistan in the joint statement. The Prime Minister, however, replied that there was no dossier on Balochistan given by Pakistan.

Yashwant Sinha led the BJP attack on the Prime Minister on the Indo-Pak joint statement. He said nothing could wash away the shame of Sharm-al-sheikh.

Sinha accused the PM of breaking the political consensus in India of not resuming the composite dialogue with Pakistan till terrorism from the country was ended and those who were responsible for 26/11 were brought to book. He went on to say that Manmohan Singh had walked all the way to the Pakistan camp.

"Balochistan is going to give us a lot of trouble in coming days. What happened in Egypt was a huge embarrassment," Sinha said.

The Opposition leader also mentioned the fact that Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani had said that the statement is a great diplomatic victory for Pakistan.

He also said that don't know where India's foreign policy is today as four big pillars of our foreign policy -- End-User Pact, climate change, Indo-US nuclear deal and Pakistan -- has collapsed.

Sinha also said that interpretation of the joint statement by both PMs has differed drastically.

The Opposition also took on the government over the Indo-US nuclear deal with Yashwant Sinha saying that the PM has broken all promises made to the House on the deal.

Yashwant Sinha's calculated statement in the Parliament is welcome. The BJP must try to learn something from leaders like A.B.Vajpayee and Yashwant Sinha instead of going VHP or Shiv Sena way.
