Alert sounded in UP, Rajasthan after Pune blast

In the wake of a terror strike in Pune which killed nine persons and left 57 injured on Saturday evening, alert has been sounded in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, with security and vigil around important installations tightened across the two states.

"Following information regarding a terror blast at a popular bakery in Pune this evening, an alert has been sounded across the state," UP Additional Director General of Police (law and order) Brij Lal said.

He said that all the district police chiefs have been asked to maintain a special vigil at important places including markets, railway and bus stations and undertake intensive checking at all places.

In Rajasthan, all places including railway stations, bus stands, hotels, inns are being checked thoroughly in all the districts including the state capital Jaipur, State Home Minister Shanti Dhariwal said.

After the blast in Pune, we instructed all the range IGs and senior officials to keep a stricter vigil, the minister said.
        
This is very sad that Pune witnessed the terror attack, Dhariwal said.
